Babysitter and Nanny Rates: What to Expect

How hourly rates are set, what changes them, and how pay works with Asiri Care.

Talking about money can feel awkward, but clear rates protect both the family and the caregiver. Here is how we think about pay.

Asiri Care sitter rates

With Asiri Care, sitter rates are $20, $25 or $30 per hour, depending on the caregiver's experience, with a 3-hour minimum per booking. Full-time and live-in nanny pay is agreed with each family and written into the employment offer.

What changes a rate

  • Number of children. Caring for twins or three siblings is more work than caring for one child.
  • Ages. Newborns and toddlers need more hands-on care.
  • Experience and certifications. CPR, newborn care training and years of experience raise your value.
  • Extra duties. Cooking for the family, driving, tutoring, overnight care or travel.
  • Languages. Bilingual caregivers are in high demand.
  • Hours. Late nights, weekends and holidays are often paid more.

Tips for caregivers

  • Agree on the rate, the hours and the payment day before the first day, in writing.
  • Ask how overtime, cancellations and holidays are handled.
  • Keep a simple record of your hours.

Paid legally

We make it a priority that families comply with local and federal employment and tax laws and pay their household staff legally. If you have questions about your pay, talk to us.
